An FFN Congress is truly unique in several ways. The blend of various disciplines with a common goal – improving fragility fracture care – is something rarely found elsewhere. The practical focus, openness, and spirit of sharing are distinctive features.
To achieve the best care, we cover the spectrum from the best evidence on treatment and care to knowledge about implementation, forming alliances, and networking. Discussions in the various sessions continue during networking breaks and often for many years to follow. I always leave an FFN Congress with renewed enthusiasm and new ideas on how to continue the work at home.

Congress Chair
Professor Katie Sheehan is a physiotherapist and Professor of Rehabilitation at Bone and Joint Health, Queen Mary University of London, UK. Her research focuses on improving access to– and delivery of– evidence-based rehabilitation across the care continuum to optimise outcomes of fragility fractures in older adults.
As Chair for the Porto Global Congress 2025 Scientific Committee, she is looking forward to leading the development of an interdisciplinary programme at the forefront of scientific advances across all four pillars of the Fragility Fracture Network.
